Social commerce lets you list your products on Facebook and Instagram so customers can browse, discover, and purchase without leaving the social platform — or be redirected to your HoopAI store for checkout. Connecting your product catalog to Facebook and Instagram Shops puts your products in front of billions of social media users.

How social commerce works

  1. You connect your HoopAI product catalog to Facebook Commerce Manager.
  2. Products sync automatically to your Facebook Shop and Instagram Shop.
  3. Customers discover your products through your Facebook page, Instagram profile, Stories, Reels, and ads.
  4. Customers either check out on Facebook/Instagram (in-app checkout) or are redirected to your HoopAI store to complete the purchase.

Set up Facebook Commerce Manager

Go to commerce.facebook.com and create a Commerce account. Connect your Facebook Business Page and Instagram business profile.

Connect Facebook in HoopAI

Navigate to Settings > Integrations and find the Facebook integration. Click Connect and authorize the connection with your Facebook Business account.

Sync your product catalog

Select the products from your HoopAI product catalog to sync to Facebook. Product names, descriptions, images, prices, and variants are sent to Commerce Manager.

Configure checkout options

Choose how customers complete purchases:
  • Redirect to website — customers click “Shop Now” and are sent to your HoopAI store checkout
  • In-app checkout — customers complete the purchase within Facebook or Instagram (availability varies by region)

Submit for review

Facebook reviews your shop and product listings before making them public. This review typically takes 24-48 hours.

Changes to products in your HoopAI catalog are synced to Facebook automatically. There may be a short delay (up to a few hours) before updates appear on Facebook and Instagram.

Product tagging in posts

Once your shop is live, you can tag products directly in social media posts:
  • Feed posts — tag products in images so viewers can tap to see details and buy
  • Stories — add product stickers that link to the product page
  • Reels — tag products in short-form video content
  • Live broadcasts — pin products during live sessions for real-time shopping
Product tags make your content shoppable — every post becomes a potential sales opportunity.

Managing orders

Orders placed through social commerce appear in your HoopAI Payments > Orders section alongside all other orders. Fulfill, track, and manage them using the same workflow as your standard store orders. For in-app checkout orders, the order also appears in Facebook Commerce Manager for reference.
Use product tags on your best-performing organic posts and Reels. Social commerce conversion rates are highest when the product appears naturally in content the audience is already engaging with, rather than in standalone product catalog ads.
Facebook and Instagram have product listing policies that prohibit certain product categories (alcohol, supplements, weapons, etc.). Review Facebook’s commerce policies before syncing your catalog to avoid account restrictions.
