Community newsletters are automated email digests that summarize recent activity in your community — top posts, announcements, new events, and highlights — and deliver them to members on a scheduled basis. They keep members engaged by surfacing content they may have missed.

Enabling community newsletters

1

Open community settings

Navigate to Memberships and Communities > Communities, open your community, and go to Settings.
2

Enable newsletter digests

Find the Newsletter or Email Digest section and toggle it ON.
3

Set the schedule

Choose the delivery frequency:
  • Daily — a summary of the day’s activity
  • Weekly — a weekly roundup (most common)
  • Custom — select specific days of the week
4

Save settings

Click Save. The newsletter will begin sending on the next scheduled date.

Content curation

The newsletter automatically curates content from your community:
Content typeHow it is selected
Top postsPosts with the most engagement (likes, comments) in the period
AnnouncementsPinned posts and admin announcements
New eventsUpcoming events created since the last newsletter
New membersMembers who joined since the last newsletter
Trending discussionsActive threads with recent comment activity
The system selects the most relevant content automatically. You do not need to manually curate each newsletter.

Customizing the newsletter design

Customize the newsletter appearance to match your brand:
  • Header image — add your community logo or banner
  • Color scheme — match your brand colors
  • Footer text — add custom text, links to your website, or social media profiles
  • Sender name and email — configure the “from” name and reply-to address

Subscriber management

  • All community members are subscribed to the newsletter by default when they join
  • Members can opt out from their notification preferences in the community portal
  • Admins can view subscriber counts and open rates in the newsletter settings

Opt-out handling

Members who no longer want to receive the newsletter can:
  1. Click the Unsubscribe link in the footer of any newsletter email.
  2. Toggle off newsletter notifications in their community notification settings.
Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not remove the member from the community — they retain full access to all community content.
Weekly newsletters tend to produce the best balance of engagement and subscriber retention. Daily newsletters can feel overwhelming and lead to higher opt-out rates, while monthly newsletters may not be frequent enough to keep members returning.
Newsletter delivery requires your email sending infrastructure to be configured. Ensure your dedicated email domain is set up in Settings > Email Services for reliable delivery and to avoid spam filters.
