Request force sync

If listing updates are delayed, use Force Sync to manually request priority processing.
Force Sync helps prioritize updates, but final publishing times still depend on each publisher.
When to use Force Sync:
  • Listing updates have been pending longer than expected
  • Changes are time-sensitive and need priority attention
  • You want to take a proactive approach to managing listing accuracy
1

Open your listing

Navigate to the Listings section and select the entity you want to update.
2

Choose sync scope

Force Sync can be applied at the entity level (all connected publishers) or publisher level (a specific publisher only).

Click Request Force Sync for the selected scope, then confirm your request.

Duplicate suppression

Duplicate listings — extra profiles that represent the same business — can split ranking power, confuse customers, and display outdated information. Duplicate Suppression helps you detect and remove these extra listings.
Duplicate Suppression
The Duplicate Suppression tab is only visible if the sub-account has an active Yext entity.

How duplicate detection works

  • Monthly automated scans run across major directories to identify potential duplicate listings
  • Listings are flagged based on matching signals: business name, address, phone number (NAP), and other identifying details
  • For multi-location brands, confirm the flagged listing is not a separate franchise, nearby branch, or previous address

Duplicate statuses

StatusMeaning
Possible duplicateFlagged and awaiting your review
Processing suppressionSuppression requested; publisher is reviewing (~24 hours, up to a week)
SuppressedDuplicate removed from search results
Unable to suppressPublisher declined; may need additional documentation

Managing duplicates

1

Review the listings grid

Compare business name, address, phone number, and details to confirm it is truly the same business.

2

Suppress a confirmed duplicate

Click Suppress, then Confirm. The status changes to “Processing Suppression.”

3

Dismiss a false positive

If the listing is NOT a duplicate, click Not a Duplicate, then Confirm. The listing is removed from the suppression queue.
Not a Duplicate
Revisit the Duplicate Suppression tab monthly since automated scans refresh regularly. Consistent review keeps your online presence clean and optimized.
