Tasks in Hoop let you create action items linked to contacts, assign them to team members, set due dates, and track completion status — all from within the Contacts section.

Creating a task

Navigate to the Tasks section

In the Contacts section, click the Tasks tab, or open a contact record and click the Tasks icon.

Click '+ New Task'

Click the ”+ New Task” button to open the task creation form.

Fill in task details

Enter:
  • Title — a clear, actionable name for the task
  • Due date — when the task should be completed
  • Description — additional context or instructions
  • Assigned to — the team member responsible
  • Associated contact — the contact this task is linked to

Save

Click Save to create the task. It will appear in the task list and on the Task Widget if you have one on your dashboard.

Multi-object tasks

Multi-object tasks let you link a single task to more than one contact or CRM object. This is useful for tasks that span multiple relationships, such as preparing for a group meeting. To set up a multi-object task, click ”+ New Task”, fill in the standard details, and use the Associations field to add multiple contacts or objects.

Managing tasks

From the Tasks view, you can:
  • Filter by user — view tasks assigned to a specific team member
  • Filter by status — show open, completed, or all tasks
  • Sort by due date — ascending or descending order
  • Edit a task — click the three dots next to any task and select Edit
  • Delete a task — click the three dots and select Delete

Task widget on the dashboard

The Task Widget on your dashboard shows all tasks at a glance. You can filter by user and status, sort by due date, and click a task title to navigate directly to the associated contact. See Custom widgets for setup instructions.
