# Business card QR codes

> Create a mobile-friendly digital business card QR code with contact info, business hours, logo, and social media links.

A business card QR code creates a hosted digital business card that opens in the scanner's browser when the code is scanned. Unlike a vCard (which saves a contact to the device's contacts app), a business card QR code presents a branded, mobile-optimized page showing your complete business profile — contact details, business hours, social media links, and branding.

## Business card QR code vs vCard QR code

| Feature | Business card QR code | vCard QR code |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------ | ------------------------------- |
| What opens | Mobile web page (hosted) | Native contacts app |
| Business hours      | Yes                            | No                              |
| Social media links | Yes, with icons | No |
| Logo and branding | Full color, hosted page | Small embedded image in contact |
| Company description | Yes                            | No                              |
| Works offline | Requires internet (loads page) | Yes (contact saved locally) |
| Best for | Brand showcase, full profile | Simple, reliable contact saving |

Use a business card QR code when you want to present a complete, branded digital presence. Use a [vCard QR code](/qr-codes/vcard-qr-code) when the primary goal is reliable contact saving that works without an internet connection.

  </Step>
</Steps>

## Design best practices for the digital card

### Profile photo

Use a professional headshot with a clear face and a simple, non-distracting background. The photo should be square or close to square in proportion. High resolution (at least 400 × 400 px) ensures it looks sharp on all screen sizes. A professional photo increases trust and makes the card more memorable.

### Company description

Keep the description brief — one to two sentences. Focus on what you or your company does and who you help. For example: "We help local businesses grow through digital marketing and automation." Avoid jargon and write for someone who does not already know your business.

### Business hours accuracy

Keep business hours current. If your hours change seasonally or temporarily, update the digital card via the edit function in the QR code library. Because the code is dynamic, the update takes effect immediately without reprinting.

### Social media selection

Only include platforms where you are genuinely active and where your profile is complete and professional. A link to an inactive or sparse social profile can undermine rather than strengthen your impression. Quality over quantity.

## Where to use business card QR codes

### Physical business cards

Print the QR code on your physical card alongside your key contact details. The QR code gives recipients access to your full profile, including information that does not fit on the card itself (business hours, social links, full address, description).

### Networking and conference settings

Display the QR code on a lanyard badge or held card at networking events. Contacts scan the code and view your full profile immediately on their phone, then save your contact or connect on social platforms from the card page.

### Reception and lobby signage

A framed business card QR code in your reception area gives visitors instant access to your contact information, hours, and social channels while they wait.

### Email signature

Add a small version of the QR code image to your email signature with a "View my digital card" caption. Mobile recipients scan it directly from their phone screen.

### Vehicle signage and outdoor advertising

On a vehicle wrap, truck lettering, or outdoor sign, a business card QR code lets passersby access your contact details and business profile from a distance without needing to write down a phone number.

## Updating the digital card

All fields on a business card QR code are editable after creation. To update:

1. Open the code from **Sites > QR Codes**
2. Click three-dot menu > **Edit**
3. Navigate through the steps and update any fields
4. Save

Changes take effect immediately. Anyone who scans the existing printed code will see the updated card.

<Tip>
  Keep your digital business card consistent with your other brand materials. Use the same logo, brand colors, and tone of voice as your website and social profiles. A cohesive presentation builds recognition and trust.
